INTRODUCTION TO
OIL PAINTING
FOR ADULTS (16 YEARS AND UP)
COURSE OVERVIEW
This course is designed to introduce students to the art of oil painting. Students will learn about the materials and techniques used in oil painting, including color mixing, brushwork, and layering. Through a series of hands-on exercises and painting projects, students will gain a foundational understanding of oil painting and develop the skills needed to create their own original oil paintings.
By the end of this course, students will have a strong understanding of oil painting materials, color mixing, brushwork, and layering techniques. They will also have completed two painting projects, including a still life, and a self directed painting and developed the skills needed to continue practicing and improving their oil painting skills.
